Gavin Elliott

Gavin Elliott is an experienced exploration geologist currently employed at Genel Energy PLC since September 2022, where responsibilities include managing portfolios and work programs in Morocco and Somaliland, as well as supporting business development. Prior to this, Gavin held a senior exploration geologist position at New Age (African Global Energy) Limited from August 2020 to September 2022, focusing on operated assets in Congo, South Africa, and Ethiopia. Earlier experiences include a senior geologist role at CNOOC International and multiple tenures at New Age (African Global Energy) Limited, where expertise was developed in prospect portfolio reviews and seismic interpretation. Gavin's career began with a research associate position at Imperial College London, contributing to significant geological studies, and also includes experience as a continental shelf geologist at the National Oceanography Centre. Educational qualifications consist of a PhD in Geology from University College Dublin and a BSc (Hons) in Geology from The University of Edinburgh.
