Akshaya Ramesh is a Principal Bioinformatics Scientist at Genentech since September 2021, previously serving as a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist. From March 2017 to August 2021, Akshaya Ramesh worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California, San Francisco, focusing on unbiased sequencing approaches to enhance public health and clinical outcomes, notably investigating the etiology of fever in Ugandan children and identifying the Nyangole virus. Akshaya's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Computational Immunology, Bioinformatics, and Genomics from Boston University, where research involved studying the immunogenetics of the rhesus macaque for HIV vaccine development.
