Altaf Kassam

Altaf Kassam is a Technical Product and Program Management leader specializing in AI and scientific data platforms, currently serving as a Senior Bioinformatics Software Engineer at Genentech since 2015. Altaf previously held key roles at Novartis, where they significantly contributed to the advancement of oncology bioinformatics through innovative data visualization and integration efforts. Early in their career, Altaf developed essential bioinformatics infrastructure at Chiron Corporation, facilitating the discovery of novel gene targets. They hold dual Bachelor’s degrees in Anthropology and Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of California, Berkeley.
