Ann Herman

Ann Herman is an experienced professional in the fields of immunology and biomarker development, currently serving as Executive Director at Genentech since December 2011, following roles as Senior Director and Director. Leading the Immunology and Infectious Disease group, Ann has a strong background in managing teams and delivering biomarker strategies across various stages of research and development. Prior to Genentech, Ann held positions as Associate Director/Senior Scientist and Senior Scientist at Genomics Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation, and as Program Head for the GNF-JDRF Alliance, focusing on type-1 diabetes research. Ann's foundational training includes a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard University and a Ph.D. from Stanford University.
