Daniel Le is a Principal Bioinformatics Scientist at Genentech, focusing on advancing nucleic acid sequencing technology through bioinformatics, data science, and computational biology since July 2020. Previously, as a Bioinformatics Scientist at CZ Biohub from October 2018 to July 2020, Daniel developed models and visualizations to analyze single-cell transcriptome data of primary human skin cells, investigating cell heterogeneity in relation to skin malignancies. Earlier, Daniel served as Managing Senior Bioinformatics Scientist at Dovetail Genomics, leading a team in creating novel analytical tools for NGS applications and developing machine learning models for structural variant detection. Daniel's academic background includes a PhD in Chemistry and Chemical Biology from the University of California, San Francisco, and a BS in Biochemistry from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo. Prior postdoctoral experiences include research at Stanford University and the University of Cambridge, focusing on gene expression mechanisms and drug discovery related to G-quadruplex structures.
