Danielle Mandikian, PhD, is a Senior Principal Scientist at Genentech since May 2016, having previously held roles as Senior Scientist, Scientist, and Associate Scientist within the same organization. Prior experience includes a contractor position at Genentech focused on Investigative Pharmacokinetics and academic roles as a Graduate Student at the University of California, Davis, where research led to the identification of a novel functional association between Kv2.1 and RyR in the mammalian brain, and as an Undergraduate Research Assistant, where studies involved cytokinesis and protein interactions in budding yeast. Danielle also gained research experience as a Visiting Researcher at the National Institute for Physiological Sciences, a summer intern at the National Institutes of Health working on AAV vectors for gene therapy, and conducted summer internships at NASA Ames Research Center optimizing neural interface biosensors for deep brain stimulation. Danielle earned a PhD and a BS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of California, Davis.
