Dirk Ellison is currently a Principal Engineer and Innovation & Technology Transfer Lead at Genentech, with extensive experience in GMP biologics manufacturing, facility design, and manufacturing automation. They have previously held leadership roles at Biogen as a Manager of Manufacturing Automation and at Idec Pharmaceuticals as Purification Manager in Clinical Operations. Prior to joining Genentech in 2011, Dirk progressed from Operator to Supervisor in Commercial and Clinical Purification. Dirk served in the US Navy as an Operations Specialist from 1987 to 1991 and earned a Bachelor's degree in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, between 1991 and 1995.
