Jim Cupp

Jim Cupp has an extensive background in scientific research and management spanning over four decades. Currently serving as Principal Scientific Manager at Genentech since January 2003, Jim also held the position of Sr Scientific Manager, managing the core Facs Lab. Prior to Genentech, Jim spent 16 years at DNAX Research Institute as a Senior Staff Scientist, and worked as a Staff Fellow with a focus on cancer research at the National Institutes of Health for five years. Jim began a career in research as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Jim holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Biophysics from Penn State University, earned between January 1975 and January 1979.
