Kerstin Seidel

Kerstin Seidel is an experienced scientist specializing in immunology, regenerative medicine, and oncology, currently serving as a Scientist IV at Genentech since August 2016. With a background in craniofacial and stem cell biology from the University of California, San Francisco, Kerstin has conducted significant research identifying cell-type specific biomarkers and characterizing adult stem cell pools. Prior to this, Kerstin completed a PhD at Newcastle University, focusing on the molecular basis of tooth agenesis and cleft palate formation, and gained foundational experience at TU München, where training encompassed a range of biological sciences. Additional research roles included positions at various prestigious institutions, contributing to genetic mapping, mouse embryonic stem cell culture, and large-scale mutagenesis projects.
