Matthieu Masureel

Senior Principal Scientist at Genentech

Matthieu Masureel is a Senior Principal Scientist at Genentech since January 2020, leading the Membrane Protein Group in efforts related to protein production, structure, and technology, with a focus on membrane protein targets to facilitate drug discovery. Prior to this role, Matthieu served as a Basic Life Sciences Research Scientist and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Stanford University School of Medicine from September 2013 to December 2019, concentrating on the conformational dynamics of G protein coupled receptors and developing techniques for structural studies using cryo-EM. Matthieu's earlier experience includes research at Université Libre de Bruxelles as a researcher and PhD student, where studies focused on protein conformational dynamics and the structural reorganization of multidrug transporters. Education includes a PhD in Chemistry from Université Libre de Bruxelles and a Master's degree in Chemistry from the same institution.
