Rowena D.

Rowena D. is an accomplished scientific leader with extensive experience in cell therapy and gene editing technologies. Currently, Rowena serves as a Senior Scientific Manager for Cell Therapy at Genentech, following a tenure as Principal Scientist at Sana Biotechnology, Inc., where significant contributions were made in gene editing CMC project management and technology development for allogenic CAR-T cell therapies. Prior roles include Scientific Technical Leader at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research, where innovative CRISPR/Cas9 therapies were developed, and a Senior Research Associate at AVEO Oncology, focusing on anti-cancer therapies. Rowena holds a Master's degree in Public Health from Tufts University School of Medicine and a B.S. in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from the University of California, Los Angeles. Passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion, Rowena has also played a pivotal role in employee resource groups and mentoring initiatives throughout the career.
