Yingjia Chen

Yingjia (Sophie) Chen is a Senior Safety Data Science Director at Genentech in the PD Safety Risk Management division. With over a decade of experience as a biostatistician and epidemiologist, Yingjia has advanced clinical and non-clinical biostatistics through innovative research and analytics. Previously, they held positions as a Lecturer in Statistics at the University of California, San Francisco, and served in various roles at Genentech, including Clinical Biostatistician and Senior Data Scientist. Yingjia has contributed significantly to oncology and neurology, driving initiatives in risk management and biomarker discovery while emphasizing mentorship and continuous improvement in data analysis. They earned a PhD in Epidemiology as well as master’s degrees in Biostatistics and Public Health.
