Jay Penlington

VP of Tooling, Machining, & Program Launch at General Aluminum

Jay Penlington is General Aluminum Manufacturing Company’s Vice President of Tooling, Machining, and Program Launch. Jay reports to Thomas Messner, President of General Aluminum.

Jay oversees all machining, tooling design and program launch over all divisions of General Aluminum. He joined General Aluminum in September of 1999 as the Tooling Design Engineering Manager. In 2013, he was promoted to Vice President of General Aluminum with the added responsibility of machining. Working together with a team to launch numerous program as well as continuous improvements to existing programs including cost saving initiatives and developing new automated techniques.

Prior to joining General Aluminum, Jay was the Foundry and Tooling Manager at Superior Industries, the world’s largest aluminum wheel facility responsible for 600 employees. Before that, he was the Foundry and Tooling Manager at Reynolds Wheels International.

Jay completed his degree in Machining at Niagara College of Applied Arts and Technology with an apprenticeship through the Ontario Colleges and Universities.
