Tools Lead For Flight Sciences/flight Technologies at General Atomics Aeronautical Systems

Dan White has a diverse range of work experience. Dan started their career as a Technical Writer Intern at Digital Systems Group, Inc. in 2004. Dan then worked as an Information Technology Advisor and Senior Information Technology Advisor at the University of Pennsylvania from 2005 to 2008. During this time, they provided computer support and troubleshooting services. In 2006, they interned as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Navmar Applied Sciences Corporation, where they developed MATLAB and VBA scripts for data analysis and contributed to the design and integration of sonobuoy hydrodynamic decelerators. From 2008 to 2009, they worked as a Teaching Assistant at the Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics Department of the University of Pennsylvania, grading coursework, conducting lectures, and other duties. In 2010, they joined General Atomics Aeronautical Systems as a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Engineer, where they developed MATLAB software tools for data analysis and procedural efficiency. Dan then took on various roles, including CFD Payload-Integration Lead for Aerodynamics & Loads and Tools Lead for Flight Sciences/Flight Technologies. In these roles, they coordinated cross-functional software development, led teams, managed program budgets, and communicated results to DoD program offices and contractors.

From 2001 to 2005, Dan attended La Salle College High School. Dan did not obtain a specific degree or field of study during this time.

In 2005, Dan enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania and pursued a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics. Dan completed their undergraduate degree in 2009.

During the same period, from 2008 to 2009, Dan also pursued a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics at the University of Pennsylvania.

In 2010, Dan attended the University of Tübingen and obtained a German Proficiency Certificate, Level B2. This certification indicates their proficiency in the German language.

In addition to their formal education, Dan obtained several certifications in various data science-related courses. In March 2020, they completed the courses "Python Data Structures" and "Introduction to Data Science in Python" from Coursera. In April 2020, they also completed the course "Exploratory Data Analysis with MATLAB," and in August 2020, they obtained the certification for "Data Processing and Feature Engineering with MATLAB" from Coursera.
