Christopher Hwang is a seasoned scientist with extensive experience in optical and laser technologies. Currently a Laser Scientist at General Atomics since April 2022, Christopher previously served as the Lead Optical Engineer at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory from July 2019 to April 2022. Prior roles include Associate Technical Staff and Assistant Technical Staff positions at MIT Lincoln Laboratory between June 2014 and June 2019, and a Research Associate role at Lux Research from July 2012 to March 2014. Christopher's early career includes serving as a Senior Research Scientist at Q-Peak, Inc. and an Engineer at Vytran Corporation. Educationally, Christopher holds a Master of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from Boston University, a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics, both from Columbia University.
