James Burghard

James Burghard is a seasoned facilities and real estate professional with extensive experience in leading large organizations. Currently serving as Vice President of Facilities Operation & Real Estate at General Atomics since April 2016, James oversees a team of over 500 employees and manages a substantial real estate portfolio of 200+ buildings across multiple states, with an operating budget exceeding $350 million. Prior to this role, James held the position of Senior Director at BAE Systems from 2006 to 2016, successfully managing facilities for over 10,000 employees and driving significant cost reductions and strategic initiatives, including sustainability efforts and business continuity planning. James earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the State University of New York between 1986 and 1988.
