Xi Chen

Scientist

Xi Chen currently serves as a Scientist at General Atomics since September 2013, focusing on ECH, transport, and Pedestal+ELM control. Previously, Xi Chen held postdoctoral positions, including one at General Atomics specializing in pedestal physics and ELM control with experience in lithium beam diagnostics, and another at UC Irvine concentrating on Energetic Particle Physics and diagnostics for DIII-D. Academic experience includes a Graduate Research Assistant role at UW-Madison working on transport and turbulence physics and diagnostics for the Madison Symmetric Torus, along with a Graduate Teaching Assistant position at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Early research at UC Davis involved the design and construction of diagnostics for the TEXTOR experiment. Xi Chen earned a Ph.D. and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics from the University of Science and Technology of China.
