Joanne Rewcastle

Joanne Rewcastle is an experienced communications professional with a diverse background in stakeholder engagement, digital transformation, and strategic communication across multiple sectors. Currently serving as Associate Director of Communications and Engagement at the General Dental Council since May 2021, Joanne leads initiatives for internal and external communication while fostering relationships within the dental sector. Previously, as Head of Internal Digital and Cross-Government Engagement at DWP Digital, Joanne defined engagement strategies and led digital content production. Other notable positions include Head of External Communications and Head of Internal Communication Campaigns at the Department for Work and Pensions, as well as roles at Lloyds Banking Group and HBOS plc. Joanne holds a PhD in Plant Pathology from The University of Edinburgh and a First Class Honours degree in Biological and Biochemical Sciences from The University of Salford.
