Matt Gerlitz

Matt Gerlitz has over 24 years of work experience in various roles and industries. Matt began their career in the United States Marine Corps as a Rifleman from 1998 to 2004. Matt then joined Rodney Hunt Company as a Design Engineer/Sales from 2002 to 2006. In 2006, they joined General Dynamics Mission Systems as a System Engineer and progressed to roles such as Engineering Leadership Program, Senior Engineer, Principal Investigator, Lead Systems Engineer, and Product Manager. Currently, they serve as the IR&D Lead for Maritime & Strategic Systems at General Dynamics Mission Systems since July 2022.

Matt Gerlitz holds a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Southern California, which they completed in 2012. In 2002, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Western New England University. Matt also received a Graduate Certificate in Systems Engineering and Architecting from Stevens Institute of Technology in 2018. Additionally, Matt has obtained various certifications, including AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner in 2021 and Certified SAFe® 6 Architect in 2023. Matt has also completed several courses in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and networking.
