Paul Amos

Paul Amos has a strong background in data privacy and information governance. Paul is currently serving as the Global Data Privacy & Records Retention Lead at General Dynamics UK Limited. Prior to this, they held the position of Senior Data Privacy & Records Retention Manager at General Dynamics from 2019 to 2023. Before joining General Dynamics, Paul worked at Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council as an Information Governance Manager and Information Security Officer. Paul also has experience as an Applications Developer and Finance Pensions & Technical Officer. Additionally, Paul has worked as the Director of Business at a menswear store and as an Adult Education IT Tutor at Ebbw Vale Learning Action Centre.

Paul Amos has a diverse education history in various fields of study. In 2001-2003, they attended Brynmawr Comprehensive School and obtained A levels in IT & Business Studies. Paul further pursued higher education at Ebbw Vale College from 2007-2008, where they completed an HNC in Business Computing, focusing on Information Technology. Continuing their academic journey, from 2009-2011, Paul obtained a degree in Accountancy and Finance (AAT) at Ebbw Vale College. Later, in 2011-2014, they attended Cardiff CETC and earned a CIPFA degree from The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy. Moving towards their interest in information security, they obtained a Certificate in Data Protection from BCS - The Chartered Institute for IT in 2015. In 2016, Paul achieved a Certificate in Information Security Management Principles from the same institution. Furthermore, they have pursued training in data privacy, completing the Certified Information Privacy Professional - Europe (CIPP/E) program from IAPP in 2019, and becoming a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) from the same institution in 2020.
