Alfred Lam

Alfred Lam, PhD, currently serves as a Partner at Chrysalix Venture Capital, specializing in early-stage investments focused on industrial innovation. With a diverse background, Alfred co-founded Mangrove Lithium, which has developed a revolutionary refining platform for producing battery-grade lithium hydroxide and carbonate. Alfred also holds board positions at multiple companies, including Deadwood Innovations Ltd., Sortera Alloys, Inc., Liminal Insights Inc., Applied Impact Robotics, General Fusion, and Axine Water Technologies, providing strategic oversight in areas ranging from sustainable timber processing to advanced battery technology and innovative wastewater treatment solutions. Alfred earned a BASc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from The University of British Columbia.
