Scientist at General Graphene

Michael Stanford is a highly experienced scientist with a robust background in materials science and engineering. Currently serving as the Director of the Science Division at General Graphene Corporation since May 2020, Michael focuses on scaling up chemical vapor deposition (CVD) graphene synthesis and application development. Prior experience includes a postdoctoral researcher role at Rice University, where research concentrated on innovative graphene synthesis techniques and applications in sensors and electronic devices. Early internships at Intel Corporation and Oak Ridge National Laboratory involved focused ion beam processing and studying opto-electronic properties of semiconducting polymers, respectively. Michael holds a PhD, Master's, and Bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where contributions also included serving as Workshop Secretary for an NSF/ONR workshop and tutoring in math.
