Ioanna Maraki has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Ioanna began their career as a Market Research Executive at Genactis in 2008 and later worked as a Research Executive and Senior Research Executive at McCann Health from 2010 to 2012. In these roles, they managed market research projects for the pharmaceutical industry, working with international clients and coordinating with multiple teams.
From 2015 to 2016, Ioanna worked as an Evidence Quality Analyst - Team Leader at the General Medical Council (GMC), where they managed a team of data analysts and liaised with stakeholders to deliver data reports. Ioanna then transitioned to the role of Policy Manager at GMC from 2016 to 2019, focusing on core policy areas.
In 2019, Ioanna became the Head of Operations for the Medical Licensing Assessment (MLA) at GMC, responsible for developing and implementing operational structures and processes for the program.
Currently, Ioanna works as a Policy and Programme Lead at NHS England, specifically in the Medicines Policy Unit. Ioanna'swork involves leading programs to achieve a Net Zero NHS by 2040, with a particular focus on the sustainability of medicines and collaboration with external stakeholders.
Ioanna Maraki's education history begins with their high school education at Athens College, which they attended from 1994 to 2004. After completing high school, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Biology, General from the University of Bristol, which they attended from 2004 to 2006. Following this, they pursued a BSc Hons in Biomedical Sciences (Pharmacology) at The University of Edinburgh from 2006 to 2008.
In terms of higher education, Ioanna Maraki completed their MSc in Global Health Policy at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of London. Ioanna enrolled in this program from 2016 to 2019.
Outside of their formal education, they also acquired a Level 3 Diploma in Management from the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) in June 2015.
