Mary Morgan-Hyland has extensive work experience in policy development and governance roles. Mary started their career in 2004 as an Account Director at PPS, where they worked until 2008. In 2010, they joined Standards for England as a Relationship Manager and later moved to Stockport Council as a Corporate Policy Officer. In 2012, they joined the General Medical Council as a Policy Manager, and throughout their tenure, they held various positions including Acting Head of Policy & Projects and Head of Governance & Council Secretary. Their most recent role at the General Medical Council was Head of Policy & Regulatory Development, which they held from 2018 until the present.

Mary Morgan-Hyland attended The University of Manchester from 1998 to 2002, where they pursued a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Politics with Honors.
