We promote good medical practice and high standards of medical education and training. We register and license doctors to practise medicine in the UK to make sure that all doctors have the right knowledge, skills and experience to provide safe, high quality care to patients. Where any doctor fails to meet our standards, we act to protect future patients from harm. We are a registered charity in England and Wales (1089278) and Scotland (SC037750).
