Tom Jones has a diverse work experience spanning from 2002 to the present. Tom started their career as an Analyst at Gloucestershire County Council in 2002 and then moved on to work as an Analyst at the Commission for Health Improvement from 2003 to 2005. Tom continued their career as a Development Officer at the Healthcare Commission from 2005 to 2008, focusing on Safer Care Team and Research and Evaluation. Tom then joined the Care Quality Commission as a Development Manager in the Safer Care Team from 2008 to 2010. In 2010, they briefly worked as a Researcher at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. Tom also had roles at the General Medical Council, where they worked as a Research Policy Manager from 2010 to 2014, a Regulation Policy Manager from 2014 to 2015, a Regulation Development Manager from 2015 to 2017, and subsequently as the Head of Regulation Policy from 2017 to present. Additionally, Tom served as a Parent Governor at Woodlands Infant School from 2014 to 2018.
Tom Jones completed their education in a chronologically progressive manner. From 1997 to 2001, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Physiology with Psychology at the University of Southampton. Afterwards, from 2005 to 2007, they obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Social Sciences from The Open University. Lastly, in 2013 and 2014, Tom attended the Institute of Learning and Management where they earned a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management.
