Gonzalo Rodrigo Álvarez

Gonzalo Rodrigo Álvarez is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in managing and developing cloud infrastructure and scheduling systems. Currently serving as the Director of Infrastructure at General Motors since May 2025, Gonzalo previously held the position of Senior Engineering Manager at Apple, where leadership was provided for a high-performance computing-like cloud infrastructure powering R&D. Gonzalo's background includes notable roles such as Engineering Manager and Software Systems Engineer at Apple, a Postdoctoral Fellow at Berkeley Lab focused on machine learning for scientific data, and contributions to workflow-aware scheduling systems. Gonzalo holds a Ph.D. in Computing Science from Umeå University and an EMBA from ESIC Business & Marketing School.
