John Leach

John Leach is a seasoned technology executive with extensive experience in data engineering and database technology. Currently serving as VP of Data Engineering at General Motors since December 2023, John previously held key positions at Apple from August 2018 to October 2023, including Manager of the Database Technology Group, where responsibility included overseeing the global database service FoundationDB and the indexing/query service CloudKit. Prior to Apple, John co-founded Splice Machine and served as Chief Technology Officer, innovating the first transactional database on the Hadoop platform and earning two patents in distributed transactional processing. Additionally, John was the CEO of InciteRetail, developing a cloud-based retail marketing solution. John Leach holds dual Bachelor of Engineering degrees in Bioengineering and Mechanical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis.
