Ken Barrett

Ken Barrett served as the Global Chief Diversity Officer at General Motors from May 2012 to present, following a role as Acting Director of the Office of Diversity Management at the United States Department of Defense from February 2011 to April 2012, where diversity and inclusion initiatives were overseen. Prior to this, Ken Barrett held various positions in the US Navy, including Diversity Director and Commanding Officer of the Navy Recruiting District in San Diego, with a career spanning from May 1984 to April 2012. Academic achievements include a Master of Business Administration from The United States Naval Postgraduate School, a Senior Fellowship at Harvard University’s Olin Institute of Strategic Studies, a Master of Arts in National Security Policy Studies from the U.S. Naval War College, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from the College of the Holy Cross.
