Charlie Shamieh

Charlie Shamieh is the current Chairman at Gen Re. Charlie has held this position since May of 2018. Prior to their current role, Charlie was the CEO of Legacy at AIG from May 2007 to May 2018. Before their time at AIG, Charlie was the Group Chief Risk Officer at Munich Re Group from January 2003 to May 2007. Charlie also spent time as a Senior Consultant at Oliver Wyman from May 2001 to December 2002 and as a Partner at Trowbridge Deloitte from March 1997 to May 2001. Charlie's career began as a Principal at Mercer from January 1994 to March 1997 and they then went on to work as an Executive at AMP from January 1986 to December 1993.

Charlie Shamieh is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. Charlie has a BEc from Macquarie University.
