Michael Hosking

Michael Hosking is the current Chief Risk Officer of Gen Re. Michael has over fifteen years of experience in the risk management field. Prior to their current position, they were the Chief Risk Officer of Berkshire Hathaway International Insurance Ltd. from June 2018 to April 2021. Hosking has also held the position of Head of Risk at Marketform from June 2014 to May 2016. Michael's experience also includes working as the ERM Head of Validation at Catlin from October 2007 to July 2014 and as a Risk Analyst at Legal & General from July 2005 to September 2007.

Michael Hosking has a Chartered Insurer - Advanced Diploma in Insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute, an MSc in Corporate and International Finance from Durham University, and a BSc in Economics from the University of Portsmouth.

Michael Hosking reports to Kara Raiguel, President & CEO. They work with Peter Temple - Head of Region UK, Ireland, South Africa & Canada, Ridge Muhly - SVP, Treaty Manager, and Andy Baillargeon - Senior Vice President.
