Jim Praklet

Jim Praklet has a diverse work experience in the tooling industry. Jim started their career as a Lead Toolmaker at Capitol Technologies in 1987, where they specialized in machining, assembly, die tryout, and final die runoff. Jim built various types of dies for companies like Maytag and GE. In 2000, they joined Modineer Company as a Tool Room Supervisor, where they led a team of 12 journeyman toolmakers and CNC tool room machinists. Jim was responsible for the machining, assembly, and final tool runoff for new build tooling in the automotive industry. In 2016, Jim joined General Stamping & Metalworks, initially as a Tool Room Supervisor and later promoted to Tool Room Manager. Jim is currently a Business Unit Manager at the company.

Jim Praklet attended St. Joseph High School in South Bend, IN from 1983 to 1987, where they earned their high school diploma. Following this, from 1987 to 1990, Jim enrolled at Ivy Tech South Bend in Indiana and studied Tool and Die Technology/Technician, although no degree was specified.
