Kirsten Brand has extensive experience in molecular biology and biochemistry, currently serving as an Associate Scientist at Generate:Biomedicines since April 2019, with previous roles as Senior Research Associate, Research Associate II, and Research Associate. Prior to this, Kirsten conducted a Master's thesis at Brandeis University, focusing on the characterization of the helicase YoaA and its interactions with DNA repair proteins using Yeast Two Hybrid systems. Additionally, Kirsten contributed to a project exploring novel associations between UBQLN2 and the Human Kidney cDNA Library while assisting as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Brandeis University. Early research experience includes work at the University of California, Davis, constructing sgRNAs for CRISPR technology to modify tomato leaf morphology and presenting findings at the West Coast Biological Undergraduate Research Conference. Kirsten holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of California, Davis, and a Master’s degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Brandeis University.
