Stéphane Kowalczuk

Stéphane Kowalczuk has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Stéphane is currently the Vice President of Strategic Finance at Generation Bio since November 2021. Prior to that, they held the position of Senior Director and Head of Corporate Finance & FPA at Generation Bio from January 2020 to November 2021.

Before joining Generation Bio, Stéphane worked at Sanofi Genzyme for several years. Stéphane served as the Senior Director and Head of Commercial Finance North America for Rare Disease and Rare Blood Disorders from July 2019 to January 2020. Prior to that, they held the role of Senior Director and Head of Finance for Medical Affairs from July 2017 to July 2019. Stéphane also worked as a Director in various finance roles within the Research and Development (R&D) department, including R&D Finance Business Partner for Specialty Care R&D and Sunrise VC Unit from January 2016 to July 2017, and R&D Finance Business Partner for Rare Disease/MS-Neurology R&D and Sunrise VC Unit from April 2013 to July 2016.

Earlier in their career, Stéphane worked at Genzyme Europe B.V. as a Finance Controller for Genzyme R&D Europe from October 2009 to March 2013, and as an Assistant Finance Controller from August 2007 to October 2009. Prior to that, they worked at Avery Dennison as a Senior Financial Analyst from January 2006 to July 2007 and as an Assistant Plant Controller from September 2004 to December 2005.

Stéphane began their career at PwC as a Financial Auditor from September 2001 to September 2004. Overall, they bring a wealth of experience in strategic finance, corporate finance, and financial analysis across various industries.

Stéphane Kowalczuk began their education in 1993 by attending Lycee, where they studied Mathematics and Science and completed their Baccalaureate degree in 1996. In 1999, they enrolled at Grenoble Ecole de Management and pursued a Master's degree in Corporate Finance, which they completed in 2001. Stéphane then continued their education at Grenoble Ecole de Management and obtained a second Master's degree in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies, which they accomplished from 2000 to 2002.
