Laurel Nelson has a comprehensive work experience in the field of marketing and strategy. Laurel is currently the Chief Marketing Officer at Genesee Scientific, starting in September 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Thermo Fisher Scientific from August 2019 to September 2022, where they held the position of Sr. Director Marketing and Strategy in the Transplant Diagnostic Division. In this role, Laurel led various teams and was responsible for driving Voice of Customer and Market Research initiatives to improve transplant success rates.

Before their time at Thermo Fisher Scientific, Laurel worked at Immucor, Inc. from March 2016 to July 2019 as the Sr. Franchise Director in Transplant Diagnostics. Previous to that, they held positions at Luminex Corporation, starting as the Director Global Strategic Marketing in IVD Instruments from July 2011 to October 2012, then as the Sr. Director of Global Marketing in Diagnostics from October 2012 to March 2016. In these roles, they optimized marketing teams and developed team members to higher positions.

Laurel's earlier experience includes roles at Life Technologies, where they held the positions of Associate Director, Americas Marketing - Clinical and Applied Markets from 2009 to 2011, and Sr. Product Line Manager, Real-Time PCR Systems from 2006 to 2009. Laurel also worked at Bio-Rad Laboratories as a Product Manager from 2000 to 2006.

Laurel Nelson received their Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Cell Biology from Mills College, where they attended from 1996 to 2000. Laurel later pursued their MBA degree with a focus in International Marketing from Saint Mary's College of California, attending from 2002 to 2005.
