Kurt Andersen

SVP, Physician Operations & Chief Medical Officer at Genesis Health System

Dr. Andersen began his medical practice in 2000 with River Valley Healthcare and has specialized in Family Medicine since that time. He joined Genesis in 2002 when River Valley Healthcare merged with Signature Physician Network and Genesis Medical Group to become Genesis Health Group. In October 2014, he moved his practice from Davenport to the new Genesis HealthPlex in Bettendorf. While serving as GHG President, Dr. Andersen will continue to practice medicine as a part-time faculty member of the Genesis Quad Cities Family Medicine Residency Program. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

He currently serves as Chairman of the GHS Operations Committee and is Chairman of the Family Practice Department at Genesis Medical Center, Davenport. Dr. Andersen also served as a member of the GHG/Genesis Health System Joint Operating Board.

Dr. Andersen holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, from the University of Iowa and is a 1997 graduate of the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. He is a 2000 graduate of the Genesis Quad Cities Family Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Andersen has published several research articles in publications such as the American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, Infection and Immunity and The Journal of Biological Chemistry.

Dr. Andersen lives in the Quad Cities area with his wife and three daughters.
