Marlies Biesinger, DNP, CNM

Marlies Biesinger, DNP, CNM has a diverse work experience in the healthcare field. Marlies started their career as an Education Intern at Planned Parenthood Greater Memphis Region in 2013, where they organized publicity for the Free Condoms Memphis campaign and assisted with adolescent sexual education programs. In 2014, they served as an Administration Intern at Planned Parenthood New York City, Inc., helping with public outreach and ensuring cultural competency in healthcare. Marlies also worked as a Legal Intern at ILS Immigration Legal Services during the same year.

In 2015, Marlies became a CAPPA Certified Labor Doula at the Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association, working as a labor and postpartum doula at a public hospital in an under-resourced rural setting. In 2020, Marlies returned to Maimonides Medical Center as a Nurse Midwife Student, where they provided full scope midwifery services to a diverse patient population, including participating in CenteringPregnancy and Telehealth visits. Marlies Biesinger, DNP, CNM completed their education in a chronological order. Marlies received their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Women's and Gender Studies, as well as Spanish, from Vanderbilt University in the years 2011 to 2015. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse at Columbia University from 2016 to 2017. Furthermore, Marlies completed their Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree in Nurse Midwife/Nursing Midwifery at the Columbia University School of Nursing from 2017 to 2021.

Marlies Biesinger also holds several additional certifications.
