Sarah McEwen

Sarah McEwen, Ph.D., is a distinguished professional in the field of cognitive neuroscience and clinical science with extensive experience in both academic and industry settings. Currently serving as Senior Director of Clinical Science at atai Life Sciences since May 2021, Sarah also holds a position as Section Editor for NeuroReport Journal and co-founded Genius Gyms, a tech start-up focused on integrating cognitive training and exercise. Previously, Sarah has held leadership roles in research at Pacific Neuroscience Institute and the John Wayne Cancer Institute, and has a strong academic background as a research psychologist at UCLA and a postdoctoral fellow in cognitive neuroscience. Sarah earned a PhD in Psychology from Trinity College Dublin and has contributed significantly to the understanding of neuroanatomical and cognitive benefits in mental health through various research initiatives.
