Matthew Cowling

EVP - Sport & Partnerships at Genius Sports

Matthew Cowling's work experience spans several roles and industries. Matthew started their career in 1999 at IBM GSA, where they served as an RSM, managing the results collection and delivery process for basketball and three Paralympic sports during the 2000 Olympic Games. From 2002 to 2007, they were the CEO of BigV Basketball, overseeing the growth of the semi-professional basketball league.

In 2007, Cowling joined SportingPulse as a Senior Project Manager, where they managed international projects. Matthew later became the General Manager of Operations, responsible for major sport relationships and business integration. In 2012, they moved to Little Athletics Australia as the Chief Executive Officer, focusing on strategic planning and collaboration with Athletics Australia and the ASC.

Cowling joined Genius Sports in 2014 and held various positions, including Project Director, Head of Product Innovation, and Chief Product Officer. Currently, they serve as the EVP - Sport & Partnerships, leading the company's sport and partnership initiatives.

Matthew Cowling started their education journey in 1981 at Tyndale Christian School, where they completed their Higher School Certificate (HSC) in 1982. Matthew later enrolled at Southern Cross University from 2012 to 2017, where they completed their Graduate Diploma in International Sports Management with a focus on International Sport Business. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained a Strategic Management certification from Copenhagen Business School in January 2017.
