Nora Pencheva has a strong background in translational medicine and research. Nora currently holds the position of Director, Translational Medicine Lead at Genmab, where they have been working since 2017. Prior to this, they served as the Associate Director and Assistant Director, Translational Medicine Lead at the same company. From 2014 to 2016, Nora was an EMBO and HFSP Postdoctoral Fellow at The Netherlands Cancer Institute, where they conducted innovative research on glioblastoma multiforme. Before that, they worked as a Scientist Epigenetics at The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson, focusing on the discovery of preventive biomarkers for non-communicable diseases. Nora began their career at The Rockefeller University as an Anderson Center PhD Fellow, where they made significant contributions to the field of metastatic melanoma and cancer research. Nora Pencheva's education history begins in 2000 when they obtained a secondary school diploma in Mathematics & Chemistry from The American College of Sofia. Nora then pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Neuroscience at Kenyon College from 2005 to 2009. In 2007 and 2008, they completed two summer undergraduate research programs in Computational Neuroscience and Experimental Neuroscience respectively, both at The Rockefeller University.
After their undergraduate studies, Nora Pencheva pursued a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Molecular & Cell Biology at The Rockefeller University from 2009 to 2014. Additionally, in February 2016, they obtained a Scientific Writing Certificate from the Stanford University School of Medicine. In October 2014, they also received an Article 9 Certificate in Laboratory Animal Science and the European Union Regulations on Experiments with Animals from Utrecht University.
