Shawn Belling, Ed.D., PMP, PMI-ACP, CSP

Shawn Belling, Ed.D., PMP, PMI-ACP, CSP has a diverse range of work experience spanning over two decades. Shawn currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer and Head of Product at Geno.Me, where they oversee the development of a searchable ecosystem of linked genetic and medical data. This platform enables researchers to access and utilize data sets for various purposes, such as treatment plan development, clinical trials, and genetic disorder research.

In addition to their role at Geno.Me, Shawn also holds a position as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Southern California since 2019. Here, they impart knowledge and expertise to students in their area of specialization.

Prior to this, Shawn has held several instructional positions in various prestigious educational institutions. Shawn has been an Instructor of Project Management at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville since 2008 and an Instructor/Lecturer at the University of Wisconsin-Madison since 2000. At the latter, they have been actively involved in curriculum development and teaching courses on Organizational Change and Agile/Scrum.

In terms of industry experience, Shawn has worked as a Senior Advisor (Emeritus) at FarWell, a consultancy firm, since 2017. In this role, they provide guidance on agile change management, process optimization, coaching, and start-up and scale-up strategies.

Furthermore, Shawn has made significant contributions in the corporate sector. Shawn served as the Chief Information Officer at Madison Area Technical College from 2018 to 2022. Here, they led the Technology Services team and ensured the effective delivery of technology solutions to over 35,000 students, faculty, and staff. Furthermore, they spearheaded various governance committees and initiatives to enhance digital access to learning technology.

Prior to their role at Madison Area Technical College, Shawn worked at Salesforce Commerce Cloud as the Vice President of Product Development & Support and later as the Vice President of Professional Services. In these positions, they led the development, delivery, and support of CloudCraze B2B ecommerce products built on Salesforce.

Shawn's career also includes a tenure at EDL Consulting, where they served as the eCommerce Practice Manager and later as the Principal Consultant/Project Management Competency Lead for CloudCraze. During this time, they played a key role in the development and implementation of CloudCraze, an ecommerce system built natively on Salesforce.

Shawn's experience extends beyond the academic and corporate sectors. Shawn had the opportunity to work as an IT Project Manager at Promega Corp, where they managed strategic IT projects and programs, built cross-functional teams, and founded the Project Management Community of Practice.

Shawn Belling, Ed.D., PMP, PMI-ACP, CSP has a diverse and extensive education history. Shawn recently completed the CIO Digital Leadership Program at the Wisconsin School of Business in 2022. Prior to that, they obtained their Doctor of Education (Ed.D) degree in Leadership from the University of the Cumberlands Graduate and Online from 2018 to 2022.

Furthermore, Shawn holds a Post-Master's Certification in Organizational Change Leadership from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, which they acquired from 2017 to 2018. Shawn also possesses a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Project Management from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, which they earned from 2004 to 2008.

Additionally, Shawn has a Master's Certificate in Project Management from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, accomplished from 1994 to 1998. Shawn completed their undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree with double majors in Education and Political Science.
