Joe Shafer

Joe Shafer currently serves as the Director of Development and Zoning for Genoa Township since August 2015, where responsibilities include administering and enforcing the zoning resolution and comprehensive plan. Prior to this role, Joe worked as a Community Planner for Cranberry Township from August 2010 to July 2015, conducting technical plan reviews and managing the land development approval process. Previous experience also includes positions at Kroger and Spartan Stores, as well as an internship with MainStreet Planning Company. Joe holds a Bachelor of Science in Geography with a focus on City and Regional Planning from Grand Valley State University, completed in 2008.
