Sam Barnett

Sam Barnett is currently serving as a Senior Applied Machine Learning Engineer at Genomics England since November 2022. Prior to this role, Sam worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Cluster of Excellence 3D Matter Made to Order (3DMM2O) from December 2021 to November 2022, and held a position as a Visiting Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Medical Research between October 2021 and November 2022. A significant portion of Sam's experience includes a Post-doctoral Researcher role at the National University of Singapore (June 2018 - September 2021) and at The University of Sheffield (September 2012 - June 2018). Sam completed a Doctor of Philosophy in Biophysics at The University of Sheffield in 2017, following a Master of Science in Mechanistic Biology in 2013, and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Microbiology in 2012. Sam's early education concluded at Tapton Secondary School in 2009.
