Sam Boraas

VP, Business Development at GenServe LLC

Sam Boraas has over 10 years of work experience in various leadership roles. In 2011, they worked as a Senior Associate in Treasury at Johnson Controls (Tyco International). In this role, they managed the Commercial Paper program, conducted foreign exchange trades, and coordinated international intercompany transactions. Sam also supported the spinoff of two new public companies by establishing separate banking and legal entity structures.

In 2012, Sam joined Johnson Controls, Fire Suppression Products, where they held multiple positions. As the Senior Financial Analyst, they managed budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for the Americas region. Sam improved expense management and increased transparency to identify savings opportunities. Sam then moved on to become the Senior Manager of Strategy, collaborating with General Managers on market analysis and proposing new business models. Sam also played a key role in M&A transactions.

From 2016 to 2019, Sam served as the Director of Portable Fire Extinguishers and Agents. Sam managed a global portfolio, developed pricing strategies, and coordinated efforts with Marketing, Manufacturing, and Sales teams. In 2019, they were promoted to Vice President & General Manager, overseeing a $150 million global firefighting foam agent and hardware business. Sam managed a team of direct and indirect reports and was responsible for strategy development, product management, marketing, sales, engineering, and regulatory affairs.

Sam's most recent role is as the VP of Business Development at GenServe LLC, starting in 2021.

Sam Boraas has obtained an MBA in Finance from Boston College Carroll School of Management. Prior to that, they earned a BA in History from Virginia Tech, and a BS in Finance from Virginia Tech - Pamplin College of Business.
