Alan Fortier is a member of Genstar’s Strategic Advisory Board and advises the firm in its industrials sector.

Alan Fortier is President and founder of Fortier & Associates, a consulting firm that’s helped hundreds of industrial companies increase profits via improved pricing and faster growth. Over his 35-year consulting career, Alan has successfully led hundreds of projects globally with a near 100% track record for exceeding aggressive profit targets, often by 2-3x. His breadth of experience spans a broad range of industrial market segments over four business cycles. Alan leverages his deep experience in helping Genstar industrial sector companies improve growth and profit performance.

Since 2007 Alan has also served as a Director for Graham Corporation (GHM), a manufacturer of engineered equipment to refineries, chemical plants and the U.S. Navy, where he has served on their Audit, Compensation and Nominating and Governance committees. In addition, from 2007–2016 Alan was a guest lecturer at Columbia Business School’s MBA and Executive Education programs on pricing and business strategy. Prior to forming Fortier & Associates over 30 years ago, Alan was a manager at a McKinsey spinoff, and before that was a project manager at DuPont.
