Dave Schaar

Dave Schaar has over 24 years of work experience in the IT security and compliance field. Dave currently serves as the Director of IT Security & Compliance at Genuine Cable Group since November 2022. Prior to this, they were an IT Security Manager at CrossCountry Mortgage, LLC from May 2021 to September 2022. Dave also worked as an Information Security Manager at Surgere, Inc. from August 2019 to April 2021.

Before Surgere, Dave held the position of Network Security Engineer (Team Lead) at Corporate Technologies Group from August 2012 to August 2019. Dave also worked as an IT Security and Risk Consultant at SecureNet IT Consultants from August 2007 to May 2016. Other notable positions include Security Engineer at The University of Akron from January 2009 to May 2012 and Asset Protection Coordinator / Information Security Manager at Walmart from June 2003 to February 2007.

Dave Schaar began their career as a Technical Consultant at SoftWare Expertise, Inc. from September 1998 to June 2003. Dave'sextensive experience in various security roles demonstrates their expertise and commitment to protecting organizations' information systems and assets.

Dave Schaar received their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from The University of Akron in 2012. Dave has also obtained several certifications including the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) from EC-Council in 2023, Leadership Effectiveness from Dale Carnegie Training in 2022, and the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) from ISACA in 2021. Additionally, Dave has acquired various certifications from Microsoft, Cisco, and (ISC)² in the field of information technology and networking.
