Ernesto Vargas

Ernesto Vargas, ASA, MAAA, is an experienced actuary currently serving as a Projections Actuary for Genworth since August 2025, focusing on long-term care (LTC) projections. Prior to this role, Vargas worked at KPMG US from December 2019 to July 2025 as a Senior Associate, managing comprehensive health and life audits under various accounting frameworks and leading actuarial transformations to support the adoption of LDTI. Previous experience includes positions as an Actuarial Analyst at Continental General, where responsibilities included GAAP and STAT financial reporting and model development, as well as roles at Clarity in Numbers, LLC, and Gabriel Roeder Smith & Company, with a focus on healthcare actuarial analysis. Vargas holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Mathematics from Austin College and has further education in Actuarial Science and Economics from The London School of Economics and Political Science.
