Mark’s first experience engaging with GENYOUth’s flagship program, Fuel Up to Play 60, was in March 2009. In collaboration with a principal media partner for the program, National Dairy Council and the National Football League, Mark was asked to develop and execute two national press announcements to increase awareness on the topic of improving youth health and wellness in schools, while also addressing the childhood obesity epidemic. Mark served as executive producer for those key occasions, one featuring former President Bill Clinton, and the other former First Lady Michelle Obama. These groundbreakings, live programs, showcased Fuel Up to Play 60’s national attention and positive influence within schools, further establishing Mark’s interest in wanting to advance and advocate heath and wellness issues for youth. Today, Mark’s responsibilities with GENYOUth provide him the opportunity to apply over 25 years of public service, communications and corporate relations experience to further advance the message, and importance, which healthy eating, physical activity and leadership skills can have in the lives of students across America. Mark collaborates closely with GENYOUth’s CEO, and many of GENYOUth’s corporate partners, to support and increase the awareness of program curriculum for Fuel Up to Play 60, AdVenture Capital and many of GENYOUth’s thought leadership initiatives.
