Steve Nelson

Steve Nelson is the Chief Executive Officer at Duly Health and Care. For more than 30 years, Steve has been dedicated to improving the healthcare system for both patients and clinicians through his experiences at both payer and provider organizations. Prior to joining DMG he served as the CEO of UnitedHealthcare, a $190 billion division of UnitedHealth Group. During his 15-year tenure, he served in key leadership positions in both the Commercial and Government businesses and drove efforts that resulted in increased growth, employee engagement and customer satisfaction. Steve also brings to bear significant provider experience having served in a variety of executive roles with Henry Ford Health System and Intermountain Healthcare.

As CEO, Steve works collaboratively with the leadership team and Board of Directors of the physician group to set the strategy for the organization and to execute plans to deliver on its promise of making healthcare better for patients and the communities served.

Steve and his family are active in their community and the outdoors. Steve, himself, is an avid triathlete and five-time Ironman finisher, including the Ironman World Championship. Steve earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Portland State University and holds master’s degrees in Business Administration and Health Services Administration from the University of Michigan.

Mr. Nelson serves on the Board of GENYOUth and Kadiant, the Dean’s Advisory Board at the University of Michigan and he is an adjunct professor at the University of Michigan.
