Anthony Petraglia, MD is a neurosurgeon at Rochester Regional Health in Rochester, New York where he is also the Executive Director of the Rochester Regional Health Concussion Program. Dr. Petraglia specializes in all aspects of spine and brain surgery with extensive subspecialty experience in sports-related neurological injuries. He graduated from the University of Chicago with a BA in neuroscience, and earned his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry; with Distinctions in Research and Community Service. He completed his neurological surgery residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center. His fellowship in Neurological Sports Medicine was completed at the West Virginia University Department of Neurosurgery and the Northshore University Health System Department of Neurosurgery, under the tutelage of Dr. Julian Bailes.
Dr. Petraglia is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons,Congress of Neurological Surgeons, Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society and alpha Omega Alpha. He has presented nationally and internationally on the topic of neurological sports medicine, has published numerous manuscripts and book chapters on various aspects of neurological surgery; and performs editorial duties for several medical journals. He has authored the “Handbook of neurological Sports Medicine: Concussion and Other Nervous System Injuries in the Athlete” with Dr. Julian Bailes and Dr. Arthur Day.
Dr. Petraglia has served asan assistant to the Sports Medicine Section of the AANS/CNS. He has worked as a physician with several collegiate and high school football programs and as a neurosurgical consultant for regional athletic councils and events. He also serves as the Chief Medical Officer for Quadrant Biosciences.
